WHAT to EXPECT
HOW IS THE READING CONDUCTED?
Mark prefers that readings are conducted over the phone. He will also accommodate Zoom and Skype calls, but please note that his connection with Spirit is NOT improved by the two of you seeing each other. In addition, watching Mark or noticing something in the background may distract you at a time when you’ll want to focus on the messages that Mark will verbally relate.
When you book a reading, it is automatically assumed that it will be conducted via phone, with you calling Mark at the appointed time. If you wish to have a reading via Zoom, email Mark the Zoom meeting link at least one day prior to your reading. Please include your full name and reading date and time in that email.
CAN I RECORD THE READING?
YES! Mark encourages you to record the reading (possibly with two recording devices, so you have a back-up). Often the messages come through so fast that you won’t be able to digest them all immediately, and unusual or unexpected messages may derail your train of thought. Having a recording is a wonderful way to revisit the reading, ponder its messages thoughtfully, and share with friends and family. You are responsible for recording the reading; Mark doesn’t offer this service, as he’s focused on making a strong connection with Spirit.
HOW DO I CONTACT MARK FOR THE READING?
If you have to contact Mark in the days BEFORE the reading, reach him at mark@marknelsonmedium.com. For the actual reading — unless you and Mark have made special arrangements — please call him promptly at the scheduled time on his dedicated line for readings: 818.574.8412. PLEASE NOTE that Mark is now in the EASTERN TIME ZONE.

WHAT SHOULD I HAVE READY?
1) A way to record the reading, ready to go,
2) A pad of paper and pen to take notes,
3) A list of questions (if you have specific things you’d like to ask him about).
4) Perhaps a box of tissues and a glass of water.
To explain #4, readings with Mark are always meant to be positive, insightful and helpful, but sometimes the powerful, supernatural nature and sheer enormity of the experience can result in emotional reactions. Mark hastens to add that “tears of joy” usually outnumber “tears of sorrow” by a 10-to-1 average.
CAN I SEND MARK QUESTIONS OR REQUESTS IN ADVANCE?
Yes, you can email Mark ahead of time with specific requests. However, he recommends that you try and enter the process with a less expectant or rigid mindset, because sometimes the messages WE think are important to receive aren’t the messages that SPIRIT wants you to receive. Mark suggests letting the reading play out organically. At a certain point, he will pause and provide you with the opportunity to ask specific questions.
HOW DOES THE PROCESS WORK?
Your reading actually begins approximately half an hour before the scheduled time. (This time has no additional fee; Mark considers it a necessary part of making a strong connection, and it’s included in the fee for your reading.)
It’s in this time window that Mark begins his process, which includes getting settled in a comfortable chair, putting a pad of paper on his lap, and “getting into the drift,” a state somewhat similar to meditation. Mark will begin making contact with guides, loved ones and others in Spirit who wish to come through.
Mark sometimes hears words, and sometimes even sees “mini-movie scenes” play out. Before your reading, he’ll take notes on these observations, so when you call him, Mark will likely already have a good amount of information to relay to you.
When you call, Mark will answer in a normal voice — he has the ability to go into and out of “the drift” as needed, to hear both Spirit and you. He will ask if you’re recording (just a reminder, so you don’t forget), and the reading will begin.
While you may have questions prepared, Mark suggests that you wait to ask them so that he can first relate what he’s heard while Drifting. Mark will continue in the Drift as he’s telling you what he’s heard and seen, so don’t be surprised when he continues to augment the initial messages with additional details and expanded context. Even though Mark is talking to you throughout the reading, he is also Drifting and open to receiving messages the entire time.
At some point, Mark will pause so that you have the opportunity to ask questions, either those you wrote down in advance of the reading, or new questions that occur to you based on what Mark has told you!
WHAT WILL I HEAR?
Mark is both a medium (people with the ability to interact with those who have crossed over) and a psychic (people who can see people, places, events and circumstances in the past, present and future). So initially, please be receptive to hearing just about anything, from just about anyone! As the reading goes on, you’ll have the chance to ask Mark for more information and clarity about specific aspects of the messages you’re receiving.
